The College Dropout (2004) es el nombre del disco debut de Kanye West, que plantea en varias letras la idea de una universidad obsoleta, que es abandonada en pos de atravesar el desarrollo personal a través de la experiencia directa.
Background:
Después de graduarse en West Aurora High School, West recibió una beca para ingresar a la Chicago's American Academy of Art y empezar a tomar clases de pintura, pero no tardó mucho en irse la Chicago State University para graduarse en literatura.
After graduating from West Aurora High School, West received a scholarship to attend Chicago's American Academy of Art and began taking painting classes, but shortly after transferred to Chicago State University to major in English.
También, Kanye se veía interesado en el Hip Hop, y se dedica a practicar rap (la parte de la voz) y beat-making (la producción de música, generalmente con samples, que sirve de base al género). Incluso consigue vender algunos beats a raperos locales del under de Chicago.
He continued making strides in his rapping and beat-making, and some of his earliest beats were sold to local underground rappers.
